Leatherworking is a craft close to my heart.

When I was in university, I was an adept student of bookbinding. The combination of creativity, precision, problem solving, and working with my hands was highly appealing. However, after graduation I spent several years in a sort of mourning period because of the lost art. I discovered leatherworking during the early days of the COVID-19 Pandemic while others were baking loaves of sourdough or engaging in other crafts. I instantly knew it was what I was looking for to fill the void. Working with a medium that is simultaneously flexible but rigid, forgiving but stubborn, as well as practical immediately drew me in.

For years I have applied my skills as a creative and a craftsman to create a wide variety of projects from notebook holders, to wallets, to firearm holsters, to full-sized bags. Working with leather is cathartic, therapeutic and engaging to me, and I am proud of my work. To create something meaningful to myself and others, to focus intensely on solving problems and innovating in the medium makes this one of my passions.
